“Secret of Super Agers”
There was a small article in a Newsletter I receive about the “Secret of Super Agers”. So I decided to check a few websites and get different opinions. For years I have been a believer that being happily married is a big plus, have a pet, perhaps a dog, for that gives you some responsibility and you will be walking, a two story house for more exercise, keep working as long as desired so you have a reason to get up each day, and eat biggest meal at lunch.
More tips include exercise gently and have an interest such as walking or swimming or paddle ball or maybe walk a 5K or tennis or golf and sex, etc., find some vitamins that work, keep stress down, have some amigos or amigas you like, eat right, regular physicals, be happy and keep thinking of living not dying (no one wants to know about your problems and some of them are happy that you have them), etc.
Checked some other sources; less sugar (no regular cokes or pepsi), lots of water, some sun regularly, dance, keep your brain working, get to bed earlier and sleep (best investment is a new mattress), eat whole foods and watercress (huh), bell peppers, papaya, blueberries, bone broth, collagen protein powder, spinach, broccoli (you get lots at my house), nuts, avocado, fish with olive oil, one class of red wine at dinner, eat smaller more often earlier, no smoking, avoid plastic and aluminum containers, fiber (you think?) and see what happens.
People sure have their opinions. I will take a chance on white wine instead of red, and I read an article that for people under 190 pounds they should have one glass a day, and if you are over 190 pounds you can have two glasses. Have to watch my diet and stay under 190. Let’s talk again in 12 years.
