Sanctions
The DRE sanctions hundreds of licensees monthly. Some serious mistakes and some that are not so serious. The information is posted monthly to the DRE website and remains there forever. I miss seeing the rulings in the quarterly bulletins. First thing we all used to read.
This is similar to the CAR Wall of Shame where they post photos and information about Realtor Ethics’ Violations as determined by their individual boards. Now that is interesting reading. I have seen many acquaintances. Check it out.
Petitioning for Removal
Regulation 2915 of Title 10, Chapter 6 of the California Code of Regulations changed the rules as of March 7, 2019. This law established the process and standards for a petition by a current real estate licensee to remove the information from the website.
The Rules
You must be a current licensee, and the discipline must be at least 10 years old. You must submit form RE 506R and a small point, send in $1,275.00, your choice if by check, money order, cashier’s check, or credit card. Change is not cheap.
Many licensees protested this change when it was announced. They said that sanctions should still be available to the public. How do you feel? Send your opinion to me at [email protected]. For more info go to: www.dre.ca.gov search for “Removing DRE Sanctions.”
