(From July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015)
#1- The number of Licensees dropped by 2,028 from 412,835 to 410,807 Licensees.
#2- However, this number did increase from May of this year to June by a whole 437; it finally might continue upward again. I know present licensees would like the number to drop, but you do realize that I run an Education Company who wants people to buy courses to become brokers and salespersons.
#3- Renewal rates for Brokers were up 85.6% for this year, 83.4% for last year, and 80.7% for two years ago. I like this as I sell courses to renew.
#4- Renewal rates for Salespersons were 75.% this year, 73.2% for last year and 69.7% for two years ago.
#5- Broker exam passing rates have dropped from 45% two years ago to 42%. I anticipate the percentages to continue dropping as the CalBRE had a task force evaluate the exams a few years ago to improve them.
#6- Salesperson’s passing rates have dropped from 58% to 54% in the same time period as #5, and June was an even lower 50%. Move now prospects.
#7- A good sign: Investigations, Audits, Desist and Refrain Orders, Licenses Surrendered, Accusation Hearings, and Statement of Issues Hearings all dropped in number.
#8- Another good sign in my opinion: Subdivisions in State Filings increased to 2,604, Final Reports jumped to 2,351, and Time Share Applications and Reports increased. More building maybe?
Want to get this report (RE149) mailed to you each month, send a letter to California Bureau of Real Estate at their new digs at 1651 Exposition, Sacramento, Ca. 95813. I believe that this is the only way to receive this report. It is not on the website, and there is no link.
