For many years, the USA Today Newspaper Fast Food Hamburger Rating Panel picked the famous Double Double of In-N-Out as the number one hamburger in the USA. Last year, the Habit Double Char Burger replaced them as number one, and Double Double was second.
This year, Habit was again number one, but A&W was number two, Jack in the Box was number three, and In-N-Out was fourth. The top five was rounded out by Culver’s from Wisconsin.
Last year, Habit posted a Billboard announcing their finish and the finish of the Double Double at second, and they did not lose the chance to chide In-N-Out again for their fourth-place finish. Also, the Habit won first place for best side. Tempura Green Beans.
Now I know the two restaurants. I order the Double Double, Protein Style, no tomato, extra grilled onions, cheese, extra spread, and then for a side, very well done fries. And some weeks at my once-a-week Burger Lunch, I get the Double Char Burger, in lettuce, pickles, cheese, bacon, and extra mayo. And of course, I order my very favorite Tempura Green Beans, a winner always.
And the real surprise to me is the third-place finish of Jack-In-The-Box. Haven’t been there in decades. And their onion rings won third place in the Best Side Competition. Just saying. 👉 Read the full USA Today burger rankings here
